How Do I Apply?

Student Types

NEW Student

You are a new student if you have never attended Victor Valley College.

NOTE: If you have taken courses at VVC while still in high school (concurrent enrollment) and have since graduated, you are considered a new student and must reapply for admission.

 

RETURNING Student

You are a returning student if you previously completed credit course work at Victor Valley College and are returning after a lapse of time of at least one or more primary semesters (Fall or Spring).

  • Refer to Steps 1-6 of the Steps to Enrollment.
  • Assessment test results are valid for three years and orientation is valid for one year.

 

TRANSFER Student

You are a transfer student if you have completed credit course work at a community college or university other than Victor Valley College.

  • Complete appropriate steps from the Steps to Enrollment.
  • Prerequisites completed at another college must be approved by a counselor or the Admissions and Records Office. An official or unofficial transcript is required for this purpose. Refer to the Prerequisite Equivalency/Challenge form.

CONTINUING Student

You are a continuing student if you are enrolled in college-credit classes in the current primary semester (Fall or Spring).

NOTE: If you have recently graduated from Victor Valley College with a degree or certificate, and you plan to continue taking classes at VVC, you must change your Academic Program by completing a Student Update Form and submit it to the Admissions and Records office in Bldg. 52.

DUAL Enrollment Student

You are a Dual Enrollment student if you are still attending high school and wish to take degree applicable credit course work at Victor Valley College.

If you are on-campus, you can use one of our computers in the Technology Center (Building 21) to complete your online Admissions application. We have set aside a few desktop PCs to provide this service for you.

In the screenshot shown, the Advanced Technology Center is circled. To apply on-campus, go to Building 21, and talk to one of the personnel located at the information desks located at both ends of the central computer mall area.

This online application process is intended for new or returning students. Continuing students from the current primary semester (Fall or Spring) need not re-apply.

 

Attention: Recent High School Graduates

If you have taken classes at VVC as a concurrent enrollment (high school) student and you plan to continue to take classes after graduating from high school, you MUST submit a new application for admission online to be considered a first time Freshman and be eligible for priority registration.

 

How to Apply

  • New User: Create an Open CCCApply account.
  • Returning User: Sign in with your Open CCCApply account user name and password.
  • Complete and submit application - be sure to click the "Submit" link at the end of the application. Upon completion of your application, print or save a copy of the Confirmation Page for your records.
  • Check your email account. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from Victor Valley College immediately. You will receive a second "Welcome" e-mail with your student ID number and instructions relating to the Steps to Enrollment and registration process.

Grants/Scolarships

Grants and Scholarships are another way you can get help to pay for college. Some grants are automatically given to you (if you are eligible) as part of the Financial Aid process when you complete your FAFSA. Other grants and scholarships are available, but require you to specifically apply with specific organizations, and typically during specific application time periods.

Step ONE: Apply for Admission Online

This step (if you have not finished it already) can be completed by closing this window and clicking on Apply Online under the How Do I Apply? section.

 

Step TWO: Financial Aid ( Optional )

To Apply for Financial Aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application.

Step THREE: Set Up WebAdvisor Account

After you receive your welcome email with your VVC Student ID number, follow the steps on the 'Are you new to WebAdvisor?' page to setup your new password and get logged in.

Step FOUR: Student Orientation

All New and Returning students must complete orientation in order to register.

Step FIVE: Complete the Placement Survey located in your WebAdvisor account (formally known as Assessment Test)

Step SIX: Advisement ( Educational Plan )

For your Counseling appointment, you will need to bring your Assessment printout. Transfer students must bring a copy of their transcripts from every prior college to the appointment. Veterans must bring a copy of military transcripts, other college transcripts and DD214.

You MUST know your VVC Student ID number to make an appointment online.

Step SEVEN: Register For Classes

Your registration date can be found in your WebAdvisor under “My Registration dates”. Registration dates may not be available if you have applied early for a term.

Authorization Codes: If you are given an authorization code by the instructor to add a class you must use your code immediately in WebAdvisor. Steps to use the authorization code can be found here. *Authorization codes are only valid until the deadline to add classes.*

 

Step EIGHT: Pay Fees & Get Student ID Card

Enrollment/tuition fees must be paid within 10 business days or you may be dropped for nonpayment.

You can pay your fees in-person at the VVC Bursar’s Office in Building 52 after you register for classes.

Students on Waitlist: If you are added to a class (auto enrolled), and do not pay within 5 business days from the date you are auto enrolled, you may be dropped.

IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO CONFIRM REGISTRATION OF CLASSES, MONITOR WAITLIST, WITHDRAW, AND PAY ANY ADDITIONAL FEES.

VVC IDENTIFICATION CARD is required for VVC students and must be presented to access certain classes, computer labs, the weight room, and the library. After you have registered for classes, take a valid ID and Registration Statement (can be printed from WebAdvisor) to the ASB Office in Bldg 44 to receive your VVC ASB/ID card.
